Community of Practice
Driving Advantaged Thinking practice in the leaving care sector
What is it?
The Better Futures Community of Practice (CoP) unites government, services and lived experience under an Advantaged Thinking approach.
The bi-annual CoP events provide a collaborative platform for over 30 service providers, the Victorian Government, key sector stakeholders and care-experienced youth experts. These events maintain the integrity of the underpinning Advantaged Thinking model and ensure that current and proposed practices and approaches are best placed to meet their intended objectives and outcomes.
Our Events
BSL hosts two Community of Practice events each year. The agenda reflects current trends, opportunity for practice reflection, sharing practice highlights and challenges.
Community of Practice events offer a valuable opportunity for Better Futures practitioners and stakeholders to:
- Stay Updated: Learn about the latest policy and service developments and challenges in the sector.
- Share Knowledge: Exchange experiences, good practice and innovative ideas to enhance support for young people transitioning from care.
- Participate in Discussions: Engage in role-specific sessions, such as Leadership and Community Connectors, where you can hear expert presentations and join discussions.
- Connect with Peers: Attend our Network session, open to all practitioners and stakeholders working with young people transitioning from care, featuring guest speakers and examples of best practices from service providers.
- Collaborate on Practice: Take part in our Workshop session, where Practice Champions, nominated by their organisations, work together on specific themes or topics with a focus on Advantaged Thinking practice.
Who can join?
